BP oil spill scam email

With every disaster, there is a new scam email to go along with it.  I was surprised when I did not see one just after the big BP oil spill, but I finally had the email show up in my inbox.  Here it is.

  2. I got the same email with just a few particulars changed. These idiots think that people will fall for this, and some might. Folks, BP Oil will not send out something with a contact email using a blumail.org account. I sent the email address clunit@blumail.com an email bomber. DON'T SCREW WITH A COMPUTER ENGINEER!!!!! MMMWWUUUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

  5. I just got a similar scam 01-26-12. I'm the lucky winner!!! Crazy, I got the same lucky number sequence as the person that posted above. We are all going to be rich. (see below for the e-mail message I received)

  9. I answered the first email sent similar to the one above stating winnings of £750,000.00. All they got was my name, address, and phone number as I didn't realize it was a scam.

  10. I got an email today stating I won too with the same numbers.
    I forwarded the attachment (Winning notification letter) and this blogspot to BP to forward to their legal department.
    I hope they catch the guys before they sucker someone in to this scam.

  13. I got the same similar letter today. August 4, 2014. Stating I'm the beneficiary of a cash prize, and I'm 1 of 4 recipients. I'm suppose to be the winner of 400,00GBP from The British Petroleum Yearly Grant Team. They're asking for my Full Name, Complete Address, Nationality, & Direct Phone Number. The guy's name is supposed to be Mr. Defoe Jones

  14. Oh, guys, these scammers have changed the message and now it looks like an unbelievable fake. I've received a letter yesterday that i got money from charity that fight against Hiv/Aids. Omg, they bold the winning sum and the date 2014, ahahahaha. Don't be fools.
